Ani bass, made in Erevan, Armenia, USSR

Ani bass was made at Erevan Musical Instruments Factory, probably somewhere in the 70's. Erevan is a capital of Armenia, which in those days was a part of the Soviet Union.

There's a white decal on the body, saying "ANI" in Armenian. According to ebay seller evushok from Armenia ANI means "castle" and it was the name of the capital of ancient Armenian Kingdom.

The instrument is not something you might enjoy playnig, but it's a rare collector's piece since Armenian guitars and basses are among the rarest of the Soviet guitar production. It features the same black finish as the rest of the Erevan electric guitars, and similar hardware of terrible quality.
