Jolana Basso V

The first Jolana bass guitar was Basso IV (1960), produced in Hradec Kralove. The name IV corresponds to the number of strings because at the same time a six-string bass Pedro was made. Basso V followed Basso IV and it seems at the time it was issued noone at Jolana remembered the reason why Basso IV had this number, so the new model was called Basso V. No, it had only four strings.

Overall, the instrument is a bit more "flashy" than than Baso IV, with chrome bridge cover and sparkling plastic pickup covers. Extra cosmetics are nice, but the bridge is more primitive than Basso IV's - it's only height - adjustable.
