1982 Jolana Galaxis guitar, made in Czechoslovakia

Galaxis guitar was made since 1980 at Krnov. In the beginning only a black finish was avaliable, and red guitars were produced somewhere after 1982. Galaxis was the first Jolana guitar that was avaliable also in a left-handed version. Galaxis became a very popular instrument and was manufactured in several modifications. Earliest Galaxises feature a rotary pickup selector switch that was later replaced by three-position toggle switch. Later Galaxises feature metallic paint.

A guitar on the picture is 1982 Jolana "Galaxis" with two "Saphir" pu's. Looks like a Strat with a Samick (or Hohner) head. This one has also a tremolo! These pickups were used on many of the '80 Jolana models, such as Disco and Galaxis bass - bass versions of "Saphir" pickups.
